Effective Date: March 27, 2026
LookBookIQ (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an AI-powered fashion styling application (the “App”) and a marketing website at lookbookiq.app (the “Website”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the App or visit the Website.
We are committed to a privacy-first approach. You can use the core features of the App without creating an account, and your personal data is stored on your own device and your own Apple iCloud account — not on our servers.
The App stores your wardrobe items, outfit data, preferences, and other personal content locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync on your Apple device, this data is also synchronised across your devices via your personal Apple iCloud account. This synchronisation does not require a LookBookIQ account. We do not have access to, and cannot read, modify, or delete, data stored in your iCloud account. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
If you choose to create an account — for example, to access credit-based features such as virtual try-on or photo enhancement — we collect only the minimum information required:
When you use features such as visual product search, virtual try-on, or product photo enhancement, the images you submit are temporarily uploaded to our servers for processing. These images are stored only for the duration necessary to complete the request and are automatically and permanently deleted within 24 hours via an automated cleanup process.
Our Website uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, GDPR-compliant analytics service. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track users across websites. All data is aggregated and no individual visitor can be identified.
We use the information we collect exclusively to provide, maintain, and improve the services you request:
We do not use your personal information, images, or any other data to train, fine-tune, or improve any artificial intelligence or machine learning models — whether our own or those of any third party.
To deliver our services, we share limited data with the following third-party providers, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting, CDN, serverless compute, file storage | Request metadata, temporarily stored images |
| Neon (PostgreSQL) | Database | Account data, credits |
| Google (Gemini API) | AI image processing (try-on, enhancement) | Submitted images (paid API tier — not used for training) |
| Groq | AI clothing classification | Clothing image metadata (not used for training) |
| Resend | Transactional email delivery | Email address |
| Apple | Sign-In with Apple authentication | Authentication token |
| Plausible Analytics | Privacy-friendly website analytics | No personal data (aggregated page views only) |
We use the paid tier of the Google Gemini API, which, under Google’s API terms of service, means your data is not used by Google to train or improve their models. Groq similarly does not use API inputs for model training. We contractually require all processors to handle your data in accordance with applicable data protection law.
LookBookIQ is operated from Switzerland. Our infrastructure is hosted on Cloudflare and Neon, which may process and store data in Switzerland, the European Economic Area (EEA), and the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside Switzerland or the EEA, we rely on legally recognised transfer mechanisms, including the Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure an adequate level of protection for your data.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including:
While no system can guarantee absolute security, we continuously review and improve our security practices.
If you are located in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Our legal basis for processing your data is the performance of our contract with you (providing the services you request). Where applicable, we may also rely on your consent or our legitimate interests in operating and improving our services.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 10.
The App and our services are not directed at, and are not intended for, individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a person under 16, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via the App or by email. Your continued use of the App or Website after a revised policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
